BIOGRAPHY

KIMBERLY A. MURAKAMI is a 1998 graduate of the William S. Richardson School of Law at the University of Hawaii where she served on the Law Review as Comments Editor. She received Awards for Administrative Law, Environmental Law, and Legal Method Seminar. She published an article in the University of Hawaii Law Review, An Evaluation of the Summary Contempt Power of the Court, 19 Hawaii L. Rev. 145 (1997), which has been cited by the Georgia Supreme Court.

Upon graduation, she was a law clerk to the Honorable Kevin S.C. Chang who was then serving on the Circuit Court of the First Circuit as the Probate and Administrative Judge. She spent two years as an associate at the Burke Sakai firm and also served as a law clerk to U.S. Magistrate Judge Barry M. Kurren. She has published an article in the American Law Reports entitled, Constructionand Application of No Child Left Behind Act, 4 A.L.R. Fed.2d 103 (2005).

Kim was born and raised in Honolulu where she attended Iolani School. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Washington with a Bachelor of Arts degree in BusinessAdministration. She is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa and Beta Gamma Sigma national academic honor societies.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two young children.
